The Charterhouse - Torquay

This charming, award-winning, family-run Edwardian residence has an idyllic location just 100 metres away from the seafront, the sandy Livermead beach and the quiet, tree-lined meadows of Cockington Valley Country Park.

The Charterhouse is in mature gardens with a patio, large lawn and a small seasonal outdoor heated swimming pool. The centre of Torquay is within walking distance.

The delightful Edwardian building contains light, airy rooms and offers charming, comfortable bed-and-breakfast accommodation. Some rooms have sea view.

Breakfast consists of a continental option, a delicious full English, home made breads and jams, and a vegetarian alternative.

Family rooms are available. Pets can also stay, providing you are booking either of the 2 pet friendly garden rooms.

There is a large, free private car park and free Wi-Fi internet access is available.

The hotel day starts from hour 15:00 and ends at 11:00.

Check-In Information:
The Charterhouse does not have 24-hour reception facilities, so please provide an estimated time of arrival when booking. Check-in is usually before 18:00. No arrivals after 22:00 are accepted.

Please note that the hotel does not accept cats. Pets can only be accommodated in the Small Double Room with Patio and Large Family Room (2 adults + 2 children) with Garden View, and cannot enter the main house. Please inform the property prior to arrival if your are travelling with a pet.

Please note that guests who book room with breakfast rates can choose from a variety of breakfast options including Continental, Full English and Vegetarian.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

Large Family Suite (2 Adults + 2 Children). This suite consists of a double bedroom with a large en suite bathroom and a shower, and a lounge with far reaching sea views. This is a spacious 1 bed room suite for a couple or easily converted for a family, to a double and single bed within the lounge, There is a flat-screen Freeview TV in each room. Free beverages and toiletries are also provided. These rooms feature wonderful views of the sea, the gardens and Cockington. This suite is located up 2 flights of stairs. Guests aged over 15 years will be charged a supplement. ;
Small Double Room with Patio. A smaller double room on the ground floor opening directly onto a small patio area. There is also an en-suite shower room with a large shower cubicle. One small dog can be accommodated in this room. An additional charge will apply. Please inform the property at the time of booking. ;
Large Family Room (2 adults + 2 children) with Garden View. This room features underfloor heating, an indoor seating area and a shower room. Guests aged over 14 years will be charged a supplement. One small dog can be accommodated in this room - a small charge will apply. Please inform the property at the time of booking. ;
Family Suite 2 (2 adults + 1 child). Babies and young children can be accommodated in this room. With a interconnecting room to the children’s room which has one full size single bed and one full size pull out bed. Also features refurbished shower room. ;
Superior Room. Refurbished room with flat-screen TV (Freeview) and large sea-view bay window. Refurbished shower room with large shower enclosure. These rooms cannot accommodate children. ;
Double Room with King Size Bed. Large room with flat-screen TV (Freeview), armchair, free toiletries and large bay window overlooking garden. This room can beup as a twin room by prior arrangement. ;
Deluxe Sea View Room. Spacious room with views of the sea, surrounding area and gardens. Super king-size bed is available. These rooms cannot accommodate children.
